CoLab is inviting you to help shape the future! There are two new ways to get involved: the CoLab Operations team and Advisory team. These teams are designed to support the strong foundation already built by CoLab’s current leadership, staff, and contributors while creating more opportunities for shared effort, fresh ideas, and sustainable growth.
CoLab Operations Team: 3-4 people
The Operations team will help carry the core responsibilities of the current Managing Director role in a shared team format. This team will support CoLab’s day-to-day health by working alongside department leads, contributors, and the Advisory team.
CoLab Advisory Team: 4-8 people
The Advisory team will help guide and support CoLab’s long-term growth by contributing ideas, experience, relationships, and project support. This may include fundraising, community outreach, partnerships, programming, communications, and organizational planning.
Leadership Development
You do not need previous leadership experience to apply. This new structure is intended to create more opportunities for people to learn, grow, and step into responsibility over time. Applicants may be considered for the Operations Team, Advisory Team, department support, or another contributing role.
Commitment
The Operations Team asks for a one-year commitment with regular involvement in meetings, planning, and follow-through. The Advisory Team asks for monthly participation for at least one year, focused on guidance, long-term direction, and community alignment.
Important Dates
• July 15: First-round application window ends
• Early August: Selected teams convene for the Charter Summit
• After August: Application window remains open as positions become available
Applying
You only need to complete one application to be considered for either team. Applications will be reviewed by CoLab leadership and the SDCAP Board based on experience, reliability, availability, collaboration skills, and fit for the role. All applicants will be personally notified before team announcements are made.
